Catherine Brentzel, an ambitious young rider, leveraged Bridl's platform to both acquire the talented mare Diva de Talma and successfully sell Julyssi Van Orti. This case study explores how Bridl's efficient matchmaking and transaction process facilitated these successful equine transitions, ultimately enhancing Brentzel’s competitive success.
Catherine Brentzel aimed to build a robust competitive lineup by acquiring top-quality horses and ensuring they reached their full potential. She needed a reliable platform to facilitate transparent and efficient transactions, both for buying and selling elite equine talent.
Bridl emerged as the perfect solution, offering a platform renowned for its transparency and efficiency in the equine market. Catherine Brentzel first utilized Bridl to acquire Diva de Talma, a remarkable chestnut mare. Recognizing Diva’s immense potential, Brentzel traveled to the Sunshine Tour for a successful trial, confirming the mare as a perfect fit for her competitive ambitions. The transaction was executed flawlessly, with Diva soon relocated to the United States.
In a strategic move, Brentzel also entrusted the sale of Julyssi Van Orti to Bridl. This grey mare, previously ridden by Pieter Devos, was given a seamless transition through Bridl. Shannon Grubba, a rider representing Costa Rica and based in Wellington, USA, acquired Julyssi Van Orti. The efficient trial and transaction process ensured a perfect match, with the mare quickly adapting to her new environment.
Diva de Talma’s competitive journey in the USA translated into notable performances, including a victory in the $10,000 IDA Development 1.35m Welcome Speed class. Brentzel’s training and the mare’s exceptional footspeed quickly made them a standout team. "She’s incredible. The footspeed is unmatched, and any speed class I enter with her, if I do my job, I know she’ll get it done for me as well," Brentzel said.
Meanwhile, Julyssi Van Orti thrived under Shannon Grubba’s guidance.
The mare’s agility and speed earned her impressive placements, including a 4th place finish in a competitive Low Jr/Am classic. Grubba shared, "So proud of Julyssi Van Orti this week delivering nothing but clear rounds. Thank you to the team for all of the help and thank you, Cici, for being the most amazing girl."
The dual success stories of acquiring Diva de Talma and selling Julyssi Van Orti underscore the value of Bridl in the equine market. The platform’s ability to increase matchmaking efficiency by up to 3x has been instrumental in Catherine Brentzel’s ongoing achievements. As Brentzel continues to excel in the competitive arena, her partnership with Bridl stands as a testament to the potential unlocked by effective equine matchmaking and seamless transactions.
