Looking for 4yo+ hunter prospects with a quiet brain, good lead changes and the right type for the North American hunter market. Geldings preferred, 163cm+, with flexibility on location and minor vet findings.

Experienced repeat buyer purchasing several hunter prospects each year. Open to sourcing throughout Europe, including less traditional markets such as Poland, Lithuania and Eastern Europe, where good value opportunities may be available. Lower-priced horses may be purchased directly from strong videos, while more expensive horses would generally be tried in person.

Must have

  • Suitable hunter prospect
  • Quiet, sensible brain
  • Good lead changes
  • 4 years old or older preferred
  • Minimum approximately 163cm
  • Good enough movement, balance and type for the hunter market
  • Decent X-rays
  • Within approximately €60,000

Nice to have

  • Gelding strongly preferred, but not necessarily mandatory
  • 3-year-olds may be considered if exceptional
  • Country of origin
  • Traditional vs less traditional European markets
  • Minor veterinary findings
  • Small chips or limited minor X-ray imperfections may be acceptable
  • Competition record
  • Experience level for younger prospects
  • Cheaper horses may be purchased from video without an in-person trial

Deal breakers

  • Nervous, spooky or overly sensitive temperament
  • Poor or unreliable lead changes
  • Excessively large horse
  • Significant veterinary concerns
  • Horse lacking the basic type or movement to develop into a hunter
  • Difficult or complicated ride
"The priority is finding straightforward, attractive hunter prospects with good brains and natural lead changes. The buyer prefers geldings approximately 163cm or taller, although excessively large horses are not ideal. Horses do not need perfect X-rays. Minor findings such as a small chip or limited low-risk imperfections can be considered if the overall horse and veterinary picture remain suitable. Young horses are welcome, with 4yo+ being the main target. Exceptional 3-year-olds can also be considered."
