February has been a high-momentum month for us at Bridl.

From my perspective, this month has been defined by two things happening at the same time:

  • real market execution (scouting, trials, sales conversations, placements)
  • community building (bringing riders together through Bridl events in a more meaningful way)

That combination is not accidental. It is exactly how I want to build Bridl.

I do not believe the future of horse sales is only about listings. I believe it is about access, trust, timing, and network. Yes, the right horse matters, always. But the quality of the process around the horse matters just as much, and in many cases, that is what determines whether a deal becomes a good decision.

Right now, that matters even more, because the market is offering buyers a very interesting window.

Our team is currently at Sunshine Tour, and we are continuing to build community-led initiatives that bring riders together while staying deeply active in sourcing and sales conversations. We are seeing first-hand how powerful it is when sport, business, and relationships move together.

What’s been happening at Bridl in February

February has been busy in the best way.

On the sales side, we have been actively scouting, following horses closely, managing ongoing buyer conversations, and progressing deals. We have also been tracking competition performances in real time, because in this market, a few weeks of strong results can materially shift both buyer confidence and price positioning.

On the community side, we have continued building the Bridl Social Club and hosting rider-focused experiences designed to connect people beyond the ring. These are social events and activations that bring together riders, horse people, and friends of the sport in a more relaxed setting.

The vision is simple: create spaces where real relationships form, because those relationships often lead to better opportunities, better referrals, and better decisions.

This month has also brought strong visibility around Bridl’s momentum and placements. Recent horse movements and client matches have reinforced what we are building: a brand that is not just marketing horses, but actually making the right matches happen across countries, budgets, and rider profiles.

In short, February has felt like a month where the engine is working:

  • active scouting
  • active community
  • active sales conversations
  • active follow-through

That matters because markets reward the teams that stay close to the action.

Why February is such an important moment in the buying cycle

From a buyer’s perspective, February is often one of the most strategic months of the year.

It sits in a very useful position in the season:

  • early enough that not everything has repriced yet
  • late enough that buyers can start reading form, results, and consistency more clearly
  • active enough that motivated sellers and serious buyers are both engaged

This is where smart buyers often gain an edge.

A lot of buyers wait too long because they want perfect certainty. But in horse buying, perfect certainty rarely exists. What matters is making a strong decision with the right information, the right process, and the right team around you.

That is exactly the type of environment we are in now.

The macro picture in February 2026 feels more resilient than the headlines suggest

One of the biggest reasons I believe this is a good buying moment is that the broader economic backdrop is more resilient than the headlines often make it sound.

The IMF’s January 2026 outlook projected global growth at 3.3% for 2026 and described the global economy as steady, supported by investment, policy support, and private-sector adaptability.

That does not mean markets are simple. It means we are not operating in a collapse environment. We are operating in a selective opportunity environment.

For horse buyers, that matters because horse purchases are tied to confidence:

  • confidence in business
  • confidence in cash flow
  • confidence in travel and logistics
  • confidence in making multi-month or multi-year sport plans

When the macro environment is stable but uncertain, the best opportunities often go to buyers who are prepared and decisive.

Rates, policy, and uncertainty: why hesitation can create opportunity

In February, both major central banks have stayed cautious.

The U.S. Federal Reserve held its target range at 3.50% to 3.75% in late January and maintained a data-dependent approach. The ECB also kept key rates unchanged in early February, with the deposit facility at 2.00%.

At the same time, markets are still digesting political and trade-policy uncertainty in the U.S., including tariff-related developments and questions around future rate cuts. That uncertainty matters more than people realize.

Why? Because uncertainty changes behavior.

  • Some buyers pause
  • Some sellers become more flexible
  • Some horses stay available longer than expected
  • Some negotiations become more realistic

That does not mean every horse suddenly gets cheaper. It means the market becomes less efficient in certain pockets, especially when sellers value clean execution and serious buyers.

This is exactly where a sourcing-led, relationship-led approach creates real value.

Currency matters too, especially for international buyers

FX is a much bigger factor in horse transactions than many people realize.

As of 23 February 2026, the ECB reference rate showed EUR 1 = USD 1.1784, with the euro relatively strong versus the dollar. That has real implications for international buyers.

It affects:

  • how a euro-denominated horse feels in USD terms
  • how much budget remains for transport, vetting, quarantine, and post-purchase costs
  • negotiation psychology
  • timing decisions

A good buying decision in this market is not just about the headline price. It is about the total acquisition strategy.

The horse market: strong demand at the top, selective value in the middle

The top end of the market continues to prove that demand is very real.

The 46th P.S.I. Auction in December 2025 delivered a strong international audience and headline prices, including a top lot at €3.5 million. Premium horses are still attracting serious global capital.

At the same time, February’s sport calendar and auction activity remind us that attention is active, but not uniform. And that is where buyers can win.

  • Top horses remain top-priced
  • Not every quality horse has fully repriced yet
  • The best value often sits in the right-fit segment, not the most advertised segment

This is especially true for buyers looking for:

  • amateur-friendly quality
  • junior/U25 transition horses
  • horses with strong records and clear progression paths
  • horses that are commercially sensible, not just fashionable

Why I believe this is a good moment to buy

At Bridl, we are not saying “buy now” because everything is cheap.

We are saying this is a good moment to buy because the current conditions favor buyers who are:

  • clear on their brief
  • realistic on budget and total costs
  • ready to move when the right horse appears
  • supported by a team that understands both the horse and the market

That is the difference.

Right now, the combination of:

  • resilient macro conditions
  • policy uncertainty
  • active sport results
  • ongoing international demand
  • uneven pricing across segments

creates a window where well-advised buyers can make very smart decisions.

What we are building at Bridl, and why it matters to clients

February has also been a reminder of why Bridl is growing the way it is.

We are building a company at the intersection of:

  • horse sales
  • market intelligence
  • community

And the community side is not a side project. It is part of the value.

When riders, owners, and horse people are in the same rooms, not just online, better conversations happen. Trust builds faster. Referrals improve. Fit becomes clearer. People ask better questions. And ultimately, buying decisions improve.

That is exactly what we are investing in through Bridl’s events and community activations, including the work we are doing now at Sunshine Tour.

If you are thinking about buying in 2026, this is the right time to start the conversation

You do not need to rush into a purchase.

But this is a very good time to get clear.

If you are considering a horse this season, reply and let us know:

  • your rider profile
  • discipline and target level
  • budget range
  • timeline
  • preferred location(s)
  • whether you are looking for a schoolmaster, step-up horse, or prospect

If there are specific horses that already caught your eye, send those too.

We can help you assess where you are in the market right now, what is realistic, and where the strongest opportunities are likely to be.

Because in this kind of market, the buyers who do best are rarely the ones who wait for certainty.

They are the ones who prepare early, read the moment well, and move with a clear plan.
